Assamese harvest festival (Bhogali Bihu) marking the end of the harvesting season, celebrated with feasts and bonfires.

Meji and bhelaghar, temporary huts and towers built from bamboo, thatch and leaves, are erected, feasted in overnight, and burned at dawn the next day. Buffalo fights and egg fights are traditional in some districts.
Pitha, rice cakes in many forms, laru (coconut and sesame balls), chira, curd and jaggery. The feasting is the point.
