1Who we are
This policy explains how Yash Pandya (“we”) handles personal data on the Sarva Panchang website and app.
We are the data fiduciary under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and the data controller under the GDPR where it applies.
Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Contact: sarvapanchang@gmail.com.
2What we collect
Most of the site works without an account, and we do not build a profile of you for reading it.
If you use the parts that need one, we collect:
- Account details — your name, email address and profile picture, from the sign-in provider you choose
- Birth details — the name, date, time and place of birth you enter to generate a chart
- Your questions — what you send to the AI chat
- Usage and balance — your credit balance and a record of what you spent it on
- Payment records — what you bought and when, and the reference numbers our payment provider returns
- Technical data — IP address, browser type and the pages you request, as any website must process to serve a page and block abuse
3Why we use it
To run your account, generate the charts and answers you ask for, track and bill your credits, keep the records tax law requires, prevent abuse, and keep the service secure and available.
We rely on your consent for birth details and AI questions, on our contract with you for your account and payments, and on our legitimate interests for security and abuse prevention. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting the data or your account.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
5How long we keep it
We keep your account data while your account is open, and delete it when you close the account. Usage history is kept for a limited period and then removed automatically. Payment records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires.
A limited record is retained after deletion to stop free credit being claimed repeatedly. It cannot be used to identify you.
6Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Give you a copy of what we hold about you
- Correct anything inaccurate
- Delete your data
- Stop or restrict a particular use
You may also withdraw consent, and nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf if you die or become incapacitated.
Write to sarvapanchang@gmail.com from your registered email address and we will reply within 30 days. If we get it wrong, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India, or to your local supervisory authority.
7Deleting your account
Account → Delete Account, in the app or on this site. You will be asked to confirm. It is immediate and cannot be undone.
9Children
This service is not intended for under-18s and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, write to sarvapanchang@gmail.com and we will delete it.
10Security
We encrypt data in transit and restrict access to it. No system is perfectly secure, and if a breach is likely to put you at risk we will notify you and the Data Protection Board as the law requires.
11Changes
We update this page when what we do changes; the date at the top is the version marker. If a change materially affects your rights, we will tell you before it takes effect.
