Gujarat tradition, women cook in advance on this day (6th Krishna) for the next day (Shitla Satam), when no cooking is done.
Randhan means cooking. The entire next day's food is cooked today, because tomorrow, Shitla Satam, no fire may be lit. At the end of the evening the stove is cleaned, worshipped, and left cold. It's a practical festival: an entire state cooks a day ahead in unison.
Everything that will be eaten cold tomorrow, thepla, puri, bhakhri, sukhi bhaji, kadhi, and mithai. Deliberately dishes that keep.
